Iowa's Child Care and Development Fund Quality Infant/Toddler Earmark:
FY 2006: The Federal CCDF Quality Infant and Toddler Earmark is $892,704.
The funds are used in the following ways to enhance the Iowa infant and toddler child care system (additional funds may be used to support these activities):
- Iowa Program for Infant & Toddler Caregivers (IA PITC), which includes:
- development of an Infant/Toddler Specialist Network
- statewide delivery of PITC module training to providers and a bonus of $200 for those who attend all 40 hours of training.
- state administration and management of the PITC effort (State Coordinator).
FY 2004:
The CCDF Quality Infant and Toddler Earmark was $903,915.
The funds were used in the following ways to enhance the Iowa infant and toddler child care system (additional funds may have been used to support these activities):
- Iowa Program for Infant & Toddler Caregivers (IA PITC), which includes:
- Infant/Toddler Specialists located in CCR&R agencies.
- a bonus of $200 to infant toddler providers who attend all 40 hours of IA PITC training.
- a research project through Iowa State University to examine the impact of the training system on child care provider practice.
- State Coordinator for the PITC effort.
